One of the questions we get asked all the time is: “What does a typical day look like in Ocean Hills?”

And the honest answer is…There isn’t one.

And that’s exactly what makes living here work so well.

There’s Always Something Happening… But Nothing You Have to Do

If you want structure, it’s here.

Pickleball drop-ins happen every day—morning and afternoon.
Golf tournaments run throughout the week—mixed on Mondays, men’s on Tuesdays, women’s on Wednesdays.
There’s a Niners group on Tuesday afternoons.
Water volleyball on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

The pool is almost always 84 degrees—perfect whether you’re swimming laps in the morning or relaxing after a round of golf.

And that’s just scratching the surface.

There are so many activities, clubs, and events happening at any given time that it’s honestly impossible to keep track of all of them.

But here’s the thing… You don’t need to.

The Real Rhythm Isn’t the Schedule—It’s the Flow of the Day

What makes daily life here feel different isn’t just the list of activities.

It’s how easily your day comes together.

For us, it might look something like this:

We head out for a 5-mile run around the loop—something we do a few times a week. Along the way, we pass the same familiar faces. A wave here, a quick conversation there. It’s something we’ve come to look forward to more than we expected.

We come home, make a green smoothie, and ease into the day.

From there, it shifts.

Maybe it’s helping a parent with something.
Maybe it’s running errands or wrapping up real estate work.
Maybe it’s a spontaneous text—“Hey, want to play pickleball?”

And just like that, the afternoon takes a different turn.

It’s the In-Between Moments That Stand Out

Some of the best parts of the day aren’t planned at all.

It’s:

  • Running into someone at the clubhouse
  • Catching up with a neighbor at the gym
  • Watching the sunset at Inspiration Hill and recognizing the same faces you saw earlier in the day

There’s a natural rhythm to it.

The clubhouse tends to be more active mid-day with longtime residents, while mornings and evenings bring out a slightly different crowd.

And when there’s a performance, event, or gathering in the evening—it all comes together.

Just recently, we ended a full day by volunteering with the AV Club, helping run cameras for a live performance in Abravanel Hall. About 80 people showed up. It was one of those moments where you look around and think…

👉 This is such a unique place to live.

You Can Fill Your Day… or Leave Space for It to Unfold

That’s really what daily life here comes down to.

You can:

  • Plan your entire day around activities
  • Or leave it open and let it evolve

You can be as social—or as quiet—as you want to be.

There’s always something happening. But there’s never pressure to do it all.

What Surprises People Most

Most people think moving here is about amenities.

And yes, those matter.

But what they don’t expect is how quickly life starts to feel… easy.

Not because there’s less to do.

But because:

  • Connection is built in
  • Activities are accessible
  • And your environment supports the kind of life you actually want to live

Final Thought

There may not be a “typical” day in Ocean Hills Country Club. But there is a feeling that shows up again and again.

A rhythm.
A sense of familiarity.
A balance between activity and ease.

And over time, that becomes the thing people value most.
