Every November, residents gather in Abravanel Hall to honor those who have served — and if last year was any indication, this year’s Veterans Day ceremony is not to be missed.

The event, hosted by the Village Vets, is a moving tribute that fills the hall — 400+ people — with heartfelt appreciation, patriotic music, and community pride. The Rancho Buena Vista High School Band joins in, and together, they create a program that is both powerful and deeply touching.

I’ll admit — I haven’t always been deeply involved in Veterans Day traditions, even though my dad, stepdad, and TK’s dad each served for a time. But, being in that room last year felt meaningful. Surrounded by men and women who served — some briefly, some for decades — I felt honored to be with them.

This year, on Tuesday, November 11 at 11 a.m., I’m looking forward to attending again, this time with even deeper appreciation for the service and sacrifice represented in that room.

If you plan to attend, arrive early — parking fills up quickly, and you’ll want a good seat for this meaningful community event.

It’s one of those moments that reminds us what makes life here in Ocean Hills so special — community, connection, and gratitude.
