A wonderful tradition in Ocean Hills Country Club are the golf cart parades. There is one on the 4th of July and one during the holidays and people go ALL OUT decorating their carts for the fun.

This year’s 4th of July Golf Cart Parade took place on the 4th at 10am. About 32 carts gathered in the overflow parking area to line-up.

It’s so much fun to see all of the decorations. Not only were the carts decorated, but pets were dressed up in their red, white and blue to ride along. Kids were riding along with their grandparents – blowing bubbles and passing out treats. Such a fun tradition.

Our favorite part of the parade, though, is always all of the people gathered in their driveways to wave and say ‘Happy 4th’ as the parade goes by. It’s a perfect excuse to stir up a neighborhood potluck or to catch up with neighbors you haven’t seen in a bit.

After the parade, residents gathered for a BBQ lunch near the pool at the lanai. There was a DJ, dancing and a lot of red, white and blue attire and accessories.

Mark your calendar and start collecting your gear for next year’s event. We hope to see you out there!
