Oceanside Parks and Recreation Department hosted an incredible fireworks and drone display on Thursday, July 3, 2025, in celebration of Independence Day and the 137th anniversary of the City’s incorporation.

TK and I usually try to beat the crowds and find somewhere to view fireworks from a distance, but something about this one made us want to go check it out first-hand, up close and personal. And we are SO glad we did!

The fireworks and drone display took place at the SoCal Soccer Complex at El Corazon (3300 El Corazon Drive). We had never been to the new stadium, so it was a great adventure for us to explore.

We decided to splurge and take advantage of on-site parking for $15. It was easy to park and a short walk into the open field that was designated for the event. There was live music and several food trucks. We brought our own chairs and parked ourselves right in the middle of the field with a great view of the show.

The first half of the show was a drone display. This offers a great alternative to fireworks because it reduces environmental impact, is less noisy and much safer. That said, it did NOT disappoint. It was fun listening to the crowd ‘oooh and ahhh’ with each change of images.

The second half of the show was traditional fireworks and they did a fantastic job. It was the best fireworks display we have seen and everyone seemed to love it.

Getting out of the park after the show was smooth and simple. It was probably even easier for people who walked in or took advantage of public transportation. The gates opened at 4pm and picnics were encouraged. We didn’t arrive until about 7:30pm and the crowd was just beginning to build up by that time.

We had a great time and would absolutely do this again. We can’t wait for next year!
